Bulgaria Bans Import of Poultry Meat from Romania

"Bulgarian Minister of Agriculture Nihat Kabil banned the import of poultry meat and eggs from neighboring Romania because of the spreading of bird flu infections there, AFP reported.

“Bulgaria is still not affected by the infections in neighboring Romania, but we have to cope with the fact that there is an epidemic of a highly-pathogenic virus in domestic birds in our neighbors”, Kabil said and called on the Bulgarian citizens to keep their domestic birds in closed areas in order to prevent contact with wild birds."
